Otto Mill

This is a painting of the old "Otto" mill located near the waterfall in the previous painting. There were several mills in this area. This building is now fading into history.

This waterfall is located in western New York. It is at the site of an old mill long that was torn down years ago. As you drive along the road this sight comes up without any fanfare. It is a magical place that takes your breath away.

Nature's Classroom: Flight

This is an oil painting of Leah standing on a fence observing birds in various stages of flight. I enjoy seeing kids experience nature with all it's wonders first hand. These are priceless memories.

Bitterroot River

I was asked to do this painting based on one of my reference photographs of a fall scene, with a variation. The request was to replace the yellows of fall with greens in the painting to match the color scheme of the livingroom. Cottonwoods and aspens trees line many of Montana's nearby rivers.

Pink Poppy Unfolds

Another poppy this time-pink. This poppy plant rarely produces more than one flower and this year was no exception. The pink flowers seem to bloom shorter than the red ones. Usually I am only able to study them while they are unfolding. I still find their fragility beautiful. Painted in oils on a 9" X 12" linen canvas.

Cigar Box With Apples

In this still life, I enjoy the cool blues and splashes of red with the apples and cigar box. The enamelware coffee pot was in a neighbors barn.
